Bottom Layer
1 1/2 cups flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp baking powder1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup sugar 1 beaten egg
1. Mix well and press into a 9" by 13" greased pan.
2. Mix 3 to 4 cups of Saskatoon berries with 1 cup
rhubarb and sugar to taste (1/2 cup)
and spread on bottom layer.
Crumbs for the topping
1 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1. Mix and sprinkle over fruit.
2. Bake at 400 degrees F for 10 minutes, then at
350 degrees for 30 minutes.
3. Frozen fruit can be used, adjust baking time.
You can make this with almost any fruit: apples,
peaches, rhubarb etc.
Adjust sugar amount.
I have used sour cherries cooked as pie
filling successfully.
Margarine can be substituted for butter.
