cup honey


cup strawberries


tablespoon almond flavouring

1. Place saskatoons and strawberries in blender or food processor and process until smooth. Pour through strainer to remove seeds and skins. Stir in honey and almond.

2. Place mixture in large skillet (10") cook over very low heat, stirring frequently, until thickened. ( one hour)

3. Place in dehydrator or line cookie sheet with parchment paper, which is best but foil can be substituted. Heat oven to 150° F.

4. Pour thickened mixture on paper and spread to form a 8 X12 rectangle.

5. Bake for 5 1/2 to 6 hours until fruit sheet is dry enough not to stick to your fingers but moist enough to roll. Put a potholder in door to keep it ajar so that it will help leather to dry by allowing moisture to escape.

6. Remove from oven and cool. Roll in plastic wrap to keep.
