Aunt Nellie's Saskatoon Peach Cobbler

cup flour

1/2

cup sugar

2

teaspoons baking powder

1 1/2

cups peaches

1/4

teaspoon salt

1

cup milk

1/4

cup butter

1

cup saskatoons

 

Instructions

 

1. Cream butter and sugar. 

2. Sift together flour, baking powder and

  salt, add to butter mixture alternatively with milk.

3. Beat until  smooth.  Pour into a greased loaf pan. 

4. Spoon peaches over the batter.

5. Bake at 375° F for 45 - 50 min.

 

While it bakes, the fruit and juice will sink to the bottom while the cake layer forms on top.

 

Serve warm with whipped cream.
